The collection was 43% higher than that of the opening weekend when "Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods" movie was released some years ago. The movie is also said to have had the best opening weekend than any movie in Japan in 2015. Deadline reported that the movie has made $8.4 million in its opening weekend, pushing behind other Japanese movies. With the box office collections coming in, the movie is reportedly a smashing success. The movie was released on 18 April, 2015 in Japan and has been directed by Tadayoshi Yamamuro with screenplay by manga and game artist Akira Toriyama.
